(Capsicum annuum) YOLO Wonder is a non-hybrid variety producing thick-walled sweet flesh peppers that ripen from green to deep red if you let them mature fully. Very productive and a good choice for Northern gardens. 70 days from transplant to green bells. Untreated, open-pollinated variety seed.

Hot Cherry Pepper Seeds – 120 seeds, $1.80

85 days. Capsicum annuum. Open Pollinated. Plant produces good yields of large 1″ long by 1 ½” wide cherry shaped hot peppers. Peppers are mildly hot, grow upright, have thick walls, and turn from green to red when mature. Excellent for pickling. A variety from the USA.

Early Jalapeno Seeds – Open Pollinated.

Germination tested @85%. Earliest jalapeno peppers you can grow. The plants are small and the yield won’t be as great as other hybrid varieties such as “mucho nacho” peppers. If you want more yield, plant more plants!

The second photo above shows a germination test–using a closed container with seeds wrapped in wet paper toweling. The germinated seeds are then put in a plant tray for future transplanting. Third photo are the pepper seeds germination-tested after a few weeks in the plant tray.

CayenneLargeRedThickPepper

Cayenne, Large Thick Red, hot pepper, Open Pollinated.
Turn red, approx. 90-95 days (after transplanting) 120 seeds $1.80

Deep orange and thick-walled peppers are very similar to California Wonder with an earlier maturity date. Sturdy, upright 22-30” plants are everbearing and pendant. One of the best open-pollinated orangeyellow peppers available with high yields and good fruit set in cool conditions. (Capsicum annuum)

Days to maturity: 60 days green, 75-80 gold.

Planting instructions:Start seeds indoors 7-8 weeks before last spring frost in a sunny, warm location. Transplant to a sunny, well drained location in the late spring when rows cultivated and enriched with organic material ground is warm, and all danger of frost is past.
Care: Water lightly to keep soil moist. Control weeds with cultivation or mulch.
Harvesting:Pick fruits that reach desirable size or leave on the vine longer for stronger flavor. Cut off part of the stem along with the pepper fruit to avoid injuring the pl;ant.
Nutritional Value: contains Vitamins: A, & C.
Collecting Seed: Select a very mature pepper and remove seeds. Allow seeds to thoroughly dry on a paper towel or cloth.

Hungarian Hot Wax Pepper seeds – Open Pollinated.
Approx. 75 days (after transplanting) to bearing peppers, longer for full red color

Very popular peppers, moderately hot, also used for stuffing. The plants are 18-24 inches tall, yield won’t be quite as great some hybrid varieties will bear.

Start indoors 6 or even 8 weeks before you plan to transplant–after your last frost date. If you have them planted and suddenly get a frost warning, use 2 layers of a row cover cloth if you have it. If you don’t have the cloth, err on the side of caution and plant a little later to avoid loss of the plants.
